THERE'S A GIRL BY THE TRACKS! SSLC COMPLETE NOTES 2025-26

1. "It is a regular scene." what was regular about the scene?

In the most populated metropolis like Mumbai the commuters were more. Evening times they hurried to go back home, so they rushed to board the trains. If they missed the particular train, they are in trouble and get late to reach there home. So it is a regular scene for those people. No one has time to think about others.

2. "Roma Talreja tried to settle into a corner near the door in the train." was she right?

No it's always better for avoid standing near the door. If I were in her place, the first thing I would try to do would be to move into the compartment, away from the door. However it's easier said than done. The trains are so jam packed that moment is almost impossible and quiet often we expose ourselves to gave danger.

3. "There is a girl by the tracks." The voices cried out whose voices do you think those were?

The voices came from the passengers (commuters) who stood at the door of the train which was coming from the opposite direction.

4. The dictionary says 'callous' means 'unconcerned'. In this situation, who do you think were callous towards the accident?

The people who saw the scene that Roma had sprawled by the tracks. Though they had seen they did not volunteer to help her. They were considered as callous towards the accident.

6. Where did Baleshwar find Roma at last?

At last Baleshwar found Roma by the side of the tracks between the two stations approximately 5 km apart in Thane district.

Roma had fallen by the railway track while coming [commuting] by an electric train and Baleshwar also had seen the girl he jumped of the still-moving train after grabbed the train's red emergency chain. Since it was the railway track somewhere between two stations which were five km apart in Thane district there were not people around and there was no help in sight Roma could not answer the question as she had blocked out after the fall because of a gash behind her head.

8. Who volunteered to help Baleshwar?

The middle aged tempo truck driver who spoke Gujarati volunteered to help Baleshwar.

9. "Roma stirred and her eyes fluttered open". What could have made her react so?

Roma got first aid in the small hospital after they shifted to back of the tempo truck to lay on the seat. When the vehicle moved unsteadily it is made her stir and her eyes fluttered.

Baleshwar could not thank the truck driver who had helped him to take Roma to the hospital.

Baleshwar had even revisited the spot where Roma had fallen to search, her belongings, because Dinesh had told him that her cell phone and handbag were missing

12. Baleshwar got some assurance from a railway employee. What was that?

The railway employee assured Baleshwar that some of Roma's belonging had been found.

Roma said that it was astonishing that a stranger would jump of a moving train and risk his life for her.

14. Write briefly the personal details such as qualification and profession of Roma Talreja and Baleshwar Mishra.

Roma Talreja is 21 years old B. com graduate from Pune. She is working as a call centre executive for 2 years. She loved her job talking connecting to customers and making new friends She is a feeling happy and active.
Baleshwar Mishra is 20 years old High school drop out. His lanky youngster from Uttar Pradesh. He is unemployed recently came to Mumbai. In Mumbai is a living with his two elder brothers and hunting a job but his effort is not fruitful.

15. "Take the girl to Airol i", suggested the cop but Baleshwar disagreed. Why did he do so?

Baleshwar disagreed to take Roma to Airol i since it was at least 10 km away. More over she was unconscious with a deep injury in the head. He felt that it was wise to take her to the nearby hospital for the immediate treatment as her condition was critical.

Yes Baleshwar was right in asking Roma her name while She lay in a critical condition to inform the family members about her accident.

17. "Baleshwar had a good memory". Do you agree? Give an examples to support your view?

Baleshwar had a good memory. Because he could remember a closer hospital nearer to the accident spot and also he memorized the cell phone number of Roma's brother as she told on a half-conscious state. He visited the spot where Roma had fallen to search her belongings.

18. The doctor at the Divine Multispecialty hospital admitted Roma without any formalities. What made him to do so?

Dr Anil Agarwal, the medical director of divine multispecialty Hospital, seeing the extent of Roma's injuries, critical condition admitted her immediately to the ICU without any formalities. And also she was unconscious with bleeding gash on her head. This made him to admit Roma without any formalities.

19. If Baleshwar had not come forward to help Roma, what would have happened to her?

If Baleshwar had not come forward to help Roma, she would have bled to death.

20. How did the truck driver help Baleshwar?

When Baleshwar had begun to lose hope, a middle aged Gujarati tempo truck driver stepped out and help Baleshwar to lay Roma in the back of his struck. He took them to a nearby hospital in Ten minutes. After the basic first aid to help him to move her back into the truck to rush to the Divine multispecialty hospital and Research centre. He also gave his cell phone to Baleshwar about the accident. The truck driver did not charge anything from Baleshwar for taking Roma to the hospital.

21. Baleshwar felt that people of Mumbai were afraid. What were they afraid of in his opinion?

According to Baleshwar people of Mumbai were afraid of getting trapped in the court or with the police.

22. The Dalai Lama says love and compassion are the true religion to me but to develop this we did not need to believe in any religion does this related to the lesson. there is a girl by the trucks. How?

Dalai Lama saying are related to this lesson. Here Baleshwar did not now the religion of Roma when he decided to help her and even truck driver sand doctors who helped and treated and her they did not know her religion. Here Baleshwar truck driver and doctor had real love, compassion and concern about human being. This is the true religion in this aspect it relates to the Dalai Lama's sayings.
